STax are pleased to announce the latest addition to our expansion plans, with the opening of our Plymouth based office.

The new Plymouth office will strengthen STax’s presence in the South West, where we already work with many clients. STax works closely with owners of commercial properties & furnished holiday lets to reduce their tax liability. We do this by identifying and valuing items that qualify for tax relief, such as plant and machinery (wiring, heating-systems, plumbing etc.). As these items are often embedded in the fabric of the building, millions of pounds’ worth of tax relief is often gone unclaimed.

Leading the new Plymouth office is Stefan Jones, who has years of experience advising commercial property owners how to maximize their entitled use of available tax relief. When speaking about his role in the newly launched office in the city, Stefan said:

“I’m delighted to be part of the new Plymouth office of STax & to be able to combine the skills of tax advisors, accountants and chartered surveyors to provide effective real estate tax advice that can make a positive difference to the profits of commercial property owners. Due to recent changes to fixtures legislation, a large proportion of our work revolves around capital allowance claims & the reduction in tax liability for owners that this delivers”

He added that:

“We carry out a large amount of our work on behalf of owners’ professional advisors, such as their accountants, solicitors & property advisors. This ensures that their duty of care regarding this important topic has been fulfilled.”

Plymouth is home to a thriving economy and a growing commercial property sector. In addition to this, it is also a high-performing holiday let destination, with one and two-bedroom properties performing particularly well in recent years. In opening our new office here, STax hopes to extend our continued work as leading property tax advice specialists.
